Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai

Synopsis

Hasegawa Kodaka has transferred schools, and he's having a hard time making friends. It doesn't help that his blond hair tends to make people think he's a delinquent. One day, he runs into his bad-tempered solitary classmate Yozora while she's talking animatedly to her imaginary friend Tomo. Realizing that neither of them have any actual friends, they decide that the best way to alter this situation is to form a club and start recruiting.

That is how "Rinjinbu", The Neighbours' Club, was formed, a club specifically designed for people who don't have very many friends. As other lonely classmates slowly join their little club, they'll try to learn how to build friendships through cooking together, playing games, and other group activities. But will this group of relationship-challenged misfits really be able to get along?


Main Character

Kodaka Hasegawa (羽瀬川小鷹)

Kodaka is the main male character of the series. His blond hair and sharp look made everyone think of him as a delinquent, and was always alone for this reason. When he found Yozora in a classroom talking alone, she forced him to create a club to make friends, as Yozora hadn't any "real" friend herself, and thus, the Neighbor's Club was born.

Regardless of the things everyone thinks of Kodaka, he is actually caring and gentle, but a little dense in some other aspects. He lives by himself with his sister Kobato, since his father is never around and his mother passed away.

Sena Kashiwazaki (柏崎星奈)

"Perfect in every way besides her personality, Kashiwazaki Sena has few friends."

Sena joins The Neighbor's Club because, even though she has many followers and servants, she lacks any real friends. She constantly butts heads with Yozora and she seems to be into eroges.

Yozora Mikazuki (三日月夜空)

Is the main heroine of the series, she hates people who show sympathy and pity to her. She's an extreme sadist, the president of the Neighbor's Club and also, somewhat a rival for Sena, but due to Sena's incompetence, she always ends up winning.

She has several ribbons tied to the ends of her hair and reacts sensitively to adult topics.

She has an 'Air (Imaginary) friend' called Tomo-chan which Kodaka mistakenly asked to her if she can talk to ghost at the beginning of the series.



It appears that Yozora met Kodaka when they were kids. Kodaka considered her his true friend, however he thought Yozora was a boy back then. Yozora remembers that Kodaka was the same boy from then, but he doesn't know she was the same "boy" too.

Kobato Hasegawa (羽瀬川小鳩)

Kodaka's younger sister, a student in middle school, but hangs out at the club. She has a penchant for darkness, vampires and the macabre ever since she started watching an anime called Full Metal Necromancer. Very close to her brother, She calls him "An-Chan", and is very clingy whenever she feels that he is not giving her the attention she wants.

Yukimura Kusunoki (楠幸村)

Yukimura is a boy with an appearance of a girl. He has deep respect and admiration for Kodaka. He even calls him aniki (brother) 

Rika Shiguma (志熊理科)

The genius-type member of the club and on the real life. She's an underclassmen and has a huge interests among each member of the club, mostly on Kodaka. Even though she's a genius, there's also a striking negative part of herself as well, she's not embarrassed saying things like ' sex ' in front of people mostly when she read a ' BL porn doujinshi ' inside the neighbor's club along with the others around her.

Maria Takayama (高山マリア)

Ten-year-old child prodigy, teacher at Saint Chronica Academy and supervisor of the Neighbours' Club. Despite her being very proud of her intelligence, Maria is extremely naïve and as gullible as one would expect from a child her age, making her an easy target for Yozora's sadistic ways. Usually, Yozora has her doing chores around the club in exchange for 100-yen bags of chips and the right to laze around in the clubroom that was hers to begin with.
